Jet's Keilani was sired BRKRD Goldstar's Jet. Jet is a son of the outstanding herdsire Lazy G's Accoyo Goldstar. Goldstar has 20 Get of Sire winners to his name including 3 at Nationals, 3 at The Futurity, and 1 at the Suri Network All Suri Fleece Show. I am sure 7 time banner winner Jet was a part of a few of those Goldstar Get of Sire wins. With Jet's excellent EPD rankings, his density of 66.96 follicles/sq mm, his great S/P ratio of 11.6 to 1, and a good S to P spread of only 7.3 microns, Jet is producing champion offspring himself now. He sired the 2018 AOA Nationals Light Male Supreme Champion, Jet's Dominion, and has 4 Get of Sire wins himself, including 1 at Nationals and 1 at The Futurity. Jet's pedigree is loaded with the names of many great herdsires besides Goldstar. The names include Torbio, Rockstar, Jackpot, Ramilo, Major Jax, Baron, Saber, Bruxo, MacGyver, and Uribe. Wow! He's a genetic powerhouse and of course, it is not just the males in his pedigree as there are many championship females in it, too.
Yes, we can't forget about the outstanding females and there is no way we can give all the credit for how nice Keilani has turned out to just her sire. Her dam Pucara Kendra is a stud production female. She has had 5 previous offspring out of 5 different herdsires and all 5 of them have been multiple banner winners. Keilani is the first repeat pairing and the Jet x Kendra cross is the same as the 5th of those crias of Kendra's and that 5th offspring was a 3 time banner winning female. Kendra's sire is Moon River's Peruvian Durango, a MacGyver son, that produced the great herdsire Chakotah of CCR Suris. In addition to Durango and MacGyver, Kendra's pedigree also includes the great herdsires Bruxo, Uribe, Allegro, and Aureo. Kendra's one very well bred female.
Putting Kendra together with Goldstar's Jet to produce Keilani makes Keilani an exceptionally well bred little girl. It's no wonder she has a great Suri phenotype and a beautifully lustrous chocolate brown fleece that is fine and nicely locked across the blanket. Keilani has been given good estimated EPDs for 2020 and they can be checked out by clicking on the link. Since her dam is getting up there in years, we have decided to keep Keilani as a foundation female for production to take her place.
Keilani had a male cria in September of 2023. The boy was sired by Micah and he has that great layered lock structure that Micah puts on all of his offspring. He also has his mom's beautiful Suri head style. That's part of a Suri phenotype that's spot on. We named him Keanu and we are so looking forward to watching him mature. Since Keilani had a fall cria, we decided to wait to get her bred again until 2024.
