We feel he's worth more than this based upon phenotype, quality of fleece, and fleece data, but we need to make room for weaned crias later this fall.
Black Gold has a fine and lustrous true black fleece. His conformation is exemplary with great proportions, a level back, great fleece coverage, and a beautiful Suri head style. Such good attributes would be expected as Black Gold is a great combination of genetics.
Those great genetics start with Black Gold's sire, Peruvian Silver Heat. Heat is one of the best and most prolific silver grey herdsires in United States. Heat was the 2011 Dark Herdsire of the Year at The Futurity after being the Reserve Champion grey male at The Futurity in 2006.
Black Gold's dam is Goldstar's Divinity. She is a daughter of Lazy G's Accoyo Goldstar. Goldstar is a Rockstar son and Torbio grandson. Goldstar has won 19 Get of Sire competitions including 3 times at Nationals, twice at The Futurity, and once at The Suri Network All Suri Fleece Show. Divinity's dam is a dark silver grey and full Bolivian female named Tailored N Silver Rings. Silver Rings produced Libertad's Notorious and Notorious was a rose grey male that was Color Champion at The Futurity.
Combining all these genetics that are known to produce champions has left us with a great result in the form of Black Gold. He has also been given estimated EPDs based upon the EPDs of the previous generations found in his pedigree and they are better than average in every category except SDAFD. Check them out by clicking on the EPDs link. A sample was submitted this spring and we will have a more accurate picture of his EPDs at the end of 2019.
Black Gold was shown last spring at GWAS and was 5th out of 5 in his class. That was our fault because we didn't check to make sure we could find both of his testicles. We just checked on 8/22/19 and they are both there now. In fact, you don't even need to feel for them, they are of good size and you can see both of them.
As we stated earlier, this boy's fleece is extremely soft and lustrous. He was shorn last spring and we wish now we had shown his fleece this summer, but we didn't want to invest in showing it if the other testicle didn't drop and he turned out to be a nonbreeder. The fleece was sold. He has a great phenotype and a lot of that look is like his grandfather Goldstar. We feel he'd make a great black herdsire for somebody for a small investment at this time.
