Grande is an outstanding female with a wonderful phenotype and outstanding fleece characteristics. Her genetics are a combination of some unique ones with the outstanding MacGyver showing up both in the top as the paternal grandmother and the bottom as the maternal grandfather. Her sire Psylent Knight brings the unique genetics in his sire Saladin. All we have to say about Saladin is that he is also the maternal grandfather of our outstanding herdsire Comet. The maternal grandfather mentioned is the outstanding male Captain Morgan and he was bred to a Kahuna daughter to get her dam WLK Victoria. Victoria has produced multiple banner winners and we think she would be classified as a stud production female. So, it's no wonder Grande has that great phenotype and fleece. She has had a skin biopsy (see below) and it is proof that the fleece is worthy of the multiple banners and one Judge's Choice won in fleece shows. She is also a multiple banner winner in halter shows including a Color Championship at The Futurity.
Biopsy by Dr. Norm Evans,
"Rogue Suri Alpacas MMALP Knight's Grande" was biopsied as a 23 month medium brown Suri female with ARI# 35064350. She grades 1 of 4 glands. Her 15X scan shows large fiber clusters mostly uniform in size, shape and placement. Observe the 4 fiber clusters on the S/P scan that show S/P of 12.25 to 1. 25 fiber clusters show an average S/P of 12.6 to 1. Also note on this S/P view as well as other scans that 50% of the secondary fibers show a level of medullation. Her density is measured at 54.25 follicles SQ MM of skin. 100 secondary fibers average 20.4 microns and 50 primary fibers average 27.9 microns for a variation of 7.5 microns. Grande's strong points are her above average density, S/P ration and fineness of fiber in comparison to other suri females.
Grande is bred to Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Sniper for a 2021 cria.
